Rat Rod HAND Lettering & HAND Pinstriping!!!

Here is one another fun project this summer.  A 1954 Chevy Pickup Rat Rod.
If you don't know what a Rat Rod is (but if you are reading this post you probably do), it is a vintage vehicle not totally blinged out or finished to showroom detail.  It has flaws, usually lots of them, non perfect paint and dings.  Some guys even leave them rusty!!!  Then they have a talented Sign Painter to hand letter and pinstripe them.  This was what I got to do for this Rod.
I started my signmaking career years ago on this type of work when EVERY sign you made had to be HAND done.  This was one reason I got into the sign business.  I LOVE to hand letter!!!  So, I had a blast on this one!!!  Oh, and I got PAID for it too!!!
I Praise God my Creator for Blessing me to be able to earn a living doing the thing I love to do.

A close up of the hand lettering and pinstriping toward the front.  I have no idea who "Moon" is.  That is just what the customer asked for it to say.

The back and the tailgate where I painted in the embossed CHEVROLET lettering.

School Library Mural Close-Ups

I chose to use the Disney style Winnie the Pooh art because it is closer to my own style and I think most kids identify with these characters better.  You can see my version of Mother Goose in the lower left corner.

Harry Potter flying by on his broom!

Wilbur & Charlotte

The world famous "Cat in the Hat".

Curious George

One of my favorite children's books, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie".

Clifford the Big Red Dog

My cartoon version of "Shiloh".

School Library Mural

This summer I was blessed to do a large hand painted mural for a local elementary school library.  The principal wanted a very colorful kid-friendly mural of the most popular storybook characters for this reading nook.  This project took about 2 1/2 weeks from concepts to completion.  This is all my original art versions of the characters with children cartoons added reading books.

Here is wall number two and a small wall.
