Thanksgiving 2011...The first dinner at our home.

This is the first Thanksgiving my wife and I are hosting at our home.   So we went all out!  My wife has done an outstanding job decorating our tables (she's AMAZING!),  I did caricatures of everyone for place settings.   My wife's and mine were in the previous post.  Here are photos of our tables and the other caricatures.
A shot of the adult's table.
The kid's table.  My wife applied chalkboard contact paper
and provided chalk for them to "draw" what they're thankful for.
After all, they are eating at an artist's house.
The caricatures of my kids (Corey and Braden), and my family.  Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Papaw(Jack) and Mamaws, (Edna & Dinah)...Click to enlarge.

Happy Thanksgiving 2011!

Happy Thanksgiving from yours truly.

Gateway Christian School Auction

Dr. William Boyd Bingham, III
Pastor, Binghamtown Baptist Church
On November 19th I set up to do live caricatures to benefit the Gateway Christian School, (sorry, no photos, it was so busy, there was simply no time to snap any photos) a ministry of my church, Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY.  God blessed me to use the talent he so graciously gave me to do 40 face caricatures in 8 hours, in both color and B&W.   That raised $880 for the school.  Prior to the event I did the above caricature of my pastor and framed it to use as a display,  someone asked if I'd be willing to allow it to be auctioned and I agreed.  Much to my surprise it auctioned for $1,000!!!!   Praise God for the AMAZING things he does!

The finished art.
The original photo that was sent for me to use for reference.

she was going to style her hair.
Here is the photo I was given to work from.

WFXY Radio's New Mascot

Here is the finished logo.
Here is a character I created for a local radio station.  WFXY, locally known as "Foxy".  So naturally it had to be a lady and a, well a fox character!

Page Mascot Art FINISHED!!!

Here are the little kids (1st - 4th grade) Cartoon Wildcats.
Here are the two "tween" (5-8 grade) Wildcat toons.
Here is the finished other wall.

Here is a close up of his face.  Click on the photo for an even larger view.
This is an Elementary School so they like a fierce (but kinda cartoony, kid friendly) Wildcat Mascot.  I have to admit I like him too!

Page Mascot Art (Revisited)

Well it has been quite a long time since my last post on this project.  The fact is it has been finished several weeks ago
but I have enjoyed a very busy summer and it just has been impossible to keep my posting up to date.  So in the next few weeks I'll be sharing this summer's projects and my current ones.
As for this photo, here I am doing line work with my Iwata air brush.  I block in all my solid colors with a
sign fitch (thats a brush by the way).  Then do all the line work with the airbrush.  I use 1-Shot Sign painter's enamel for everything.

AWESOME worship music video

This musician (Phil Cross) was at our church (Binghamtown Baptist Church,www.binghamtown.org) on Sunday and is an AWESOME, God anointed singer!!!!  Here is his latest video.  He did this
live at church and it was one of the best worship experiences of my entire life!!!
I hope it will bless you!

The wall with the primary(K-4th) and upper grade (5th - 8th grade) wildcat characters.

School Mascot Wall Murals

Here is the other wall with all the colors blocked in.
Well, it WAS my intention to upload the stages of these murals each day as I completed
them, but.  It has been so busy that was impossible.  That said, here I am hand lettering on the
wall.  I printed out the mascot art of my previous post along with the lettering onto
transparency film and projected everything up on the wall.  I do all the lettering first.

School Mascots

I have a commission to paint school mascots in a local elementary school's
lunchroom.  Here are some wildcat kids.  When painted on the wall they'll be
in full color.  I'll eventually color these in Photoshop and post them.

Here are a couple wildcat tweens.
One one wall, the kids will be at one end and the tweens at the other,
with the lettering in the center that will read,
"WILDCATS ARE WINNERS."
The opposite wall will have this art very large.
Check back soon for photos of the finished job.

Call of Duty

This is one of my son's buddies.  He wanted to be drawn in soldier gear because
he likes the Call of Duty games...and my caricatures of him.
I have also drawn him as a Football player, a Basketball player, and
a "Caticature" of him.  He's also a GREAT kid!!!

Trucker

Cheerleader

Vacationing Couple

This couple loved the beach...and their two cats!

All-Sports Girl!!!

This actually wasn't a commission.  This is my son's girlfriend.
 It was a birthday gift.

Latest Sign Job

With a church name like "Bethlehem," this design was just screaming for a star that resembled a cross.
I also did another sign similar with the same design that was installed onto their
Fellowship Center building.

Star Wars Weekend 2011

I know this post has absolutely nothing to do with my art or signs,
but we are huge Star Wars fans and were blessed to attend a Star Wars Weekend
Event at Walt Disney World.  Here are my guys with Anakin Skywalker.

Here is the whole family with Jedi Mickey and R2-MK.

The famous droid R2-D2

We got to meet and get autographs from several of the Star Wars Clone Wars
voices.  Here we are with Ashley Ekstien, the voice of Ahsoka Tano.

Here was the most difficult character to get a photo op and an
autograph from, (she seemed even more popular than Anakin)
Star Wars Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano in the flesh!

Another Trail Rider

Here is another Trail Rider.

And one more.

More Trail Riders

Same guy with his wife.  Sorry no digital photo available for her.
I used a family photo.  You'll have to trust me on this one that it looks
just like her.  They LOVED it!

Trail Rider Caricatures

Here is a guy and his daughter.
More to come......

Red Bud Festival

Here is a girl who requested a Strawberry Shortcake theme.  I had NEVER drawn Strawberry Shortcake, so I  Googled the caricature on my iPhone and came up with this coooool version.  They loved it!!!  Why don't I have her photo?  She was only about 3 and was very tired, so I had to work really fast to get the likeness then her mom took her to the vehicle while her grandmother waited on me to finish.
Here is his caricature up close.
Here is a colorful teen who wanted to be a Magician.  That is why he is wearing a top hat.
I had the opportunity to do LIVE caricatures at the Red Bud Festival in Barbourville, KY.
Here I am working on a golf themed caricature.
